Sometimes, Always and Promises.

Dear You,

Sometimes in life, you find yourself undeserving for all the good that happens to you.
Sometimes, you question what it is you could have done to become so lucky.
Sometimes, you try and sabotage it to see if its real.
Sometimes, I stay awake and stare at you in a non creepy way, and my heart smiles.
Sometimes, I listen to you breathe (also, in a non creepy way) and thank my lucky stars you are alive.
Sometimes, I really hate washing your smelly socks.
Sometimes, (well, most of the time) I tickle you on purpose just to hear you laugh.
Sometimes, I wish you wouldn't fight me & just let me tickle you.
Sometimes, when you get dressed I sneak a peek. :)

I'll always remember the night we met, you would't stop staring at me and I thought you were creepy.
(turned out you weren't)
I'll always remember the night we slow danced at the parking lot by my house.
I'll always remember our first fancy date, you wore a sweater vest.
I'll always remember the first night in our first place together.
I will always be your biggest supporter, number one fan.

I promise to cook more.
Promise to yell less.
I promise to always stick by your side no matter what.
I promise to be patient.
I promise to love you in all the ways I know how.
I promise to always hold your hand while falling asleep.
I promise to shop less.

It's no secret my life hasn't always been easy. And its no secret you are exactly what I need to live it better, happier, and fuller. You are without any doubt thee best thing to happen to me. I just wish I would've found you sooner. To stand by your side, to become your wife, your life long partner in crime, is more then I feel I deserve. But will gladly and graciously do.

I love that once you become passionate about something you become unstoppable in making it happen.
I love that no matter what kind of day you have, I have, or we have, you always think about the positive.
I love that I get to love you forever, and no-one can ever take that away from us.

I love you more then moonlight, macaroons, and a sale.
I love you for you.
Love, Me

A few sweet songs,

 for my sugar_lumpkins <3

I love you Rob.

Chalk Board Signs

We are pretty much making 90% of the wedding stuff ourselves. Its a lot of work but the personal touches on everything I think will make a big difference. We want our wedding to be 100% US! So here are a few things I worked on last weekend.

Went to the Home Depot to get some wood for our chalk board signs. We are making signs for the tables which will have our menus written on them as well as a chalk board sign for the guest book table. We also made arrow signs for the guest to know where to go. So here's what I did...

For the arrows we picked out these fence posts. We saw them and figured this would save us so much time trying to cut out arrows ourselves. They were a bit on the long side so we had to cut them down to size. Once they were the right size we drilled them to the wood stand and done! An easy personal touch.

And this is what they looked like without the chalk paint applied.

Next the signs. We bought a big piece of plywood and cut our boards to size.

Next we made the stands using these metal L brackets.

All this took less then half an hour to do!!

All that was left was painting them with the chalk board paint. Which we had bought a while back to make the chalkboard sign from our engagement photos.

And the finished arrows.....

Look Out Portland! We're about to make you more weird

A lot of people have asked us "Why so early?" "Why are you doing the wedding on a friday?" "That's pretty early". Well, The reason we picked such an early time is because we decide to go on a road trip right after the ceremony is over. We plan to have the car fully packed and ready and right after we say "I Do" We'll driving into the sunset for our honeymoon.

Our plan is this....Seattle has always been a dream of Windy's. She's always wanted to go there. So we  planned out a road trip up the Pacific Coast and across 3 states.

Our first stop of the trip is in Wheeler, Or. Never heard of it? Me either but we booked a room
at the Old Wheeler Hotel. Its located right on the Oregon coast line on the 101 Freeway. We found this hotel through a Living Social deal which includes a 2 nights stay, a bottle of champange, and a box of chocolate. This screams romance and honeymoon.

The town of Wheeler has a population of about 400 people. That's It! I read reviews on TripAdvisor that mostly couples stay in this hotel because of its seclusion from the outside world and for its romantic atmosphere.

Our next stop on this road trip will be Portland, Or. Where we will stay with our good friend (my best man) Matt. After that we make our way up to Seattle. We'll enjoy what the city has to offer then we say "Au revoir" and make our way down the pacific coast highway. Taking the scenic route all the way home.

So now you know why we decided on such an early wedding. Oh and if your wondering what to get us for our wedding present? How about helping us with our trip! At the wedding we'll have a white envelope card station. Windy's going to decorate a small vintage suit case we have for this (which will probably be blogged about in the coming days). We really don't need anything for our place which is why we didn't register. So if your thinking of what to get us, How about contributing to our trip in anyway you can. You can bring with you a white envelope and make our honeymoon even better. Or how about a gift that we can use during our trip? (gas card, restaurant gift card, emergency ponchos, your AAA card ;) And of course we love getting stuff people make.

We started receiving RSVP's back and now it's started to get exciting. The time is fast approaching and we couldn't be more happier then we are now. And to have some of our close friends and family be there to see us marry and to send us off on our first adventure as a married couple, means more to us then you can ever imagine.

The Invitation

Right from the beginning we knew we wanted to make our invitations look like something people haven't seen before. The idea was simple. We wanted to screen print our invite onto canvases and envelopes made of burlap. Creative and simple right?... WRONG! Lets go back to the beginning.

The idea first came to thought during a trip to Michael's. We thought it would be a creative and simple way of doing a invite (Boy were we wrong). We asked our friend Gus if he could help us make these invites. So I made the invitation template and sent it to him. We went for a test to see if our idea would actually work. The first canvases came out amazing. We left that day happy and excited.

Couple days later we went to Blicks and saw canvases for a bit cheaper then Micheal's so we decided to go with them. The problem with these were that the canvas was a bit more textured
and they were pre-painted white and it caused the ink to not come out like the first canvases we got.

We ran into a HUGE problem and thats when the s*** hit the fan. Having only 3 hours of sleep and having hit a wall we needed another plan fast. Lucky for us, We have some amazing friends and friends with their own businesses. We took our canvases and template to my friend Manny at his shop in south pasadena called Cantu Graphics. He actually had canvas that he could print on so we did some test and it came out great. All we had to do was wrap the new canvas on the old canvas. More work for us but we had no other option.

With the new canvas printed we set up shop at our house and got to work.
With the canvases freshly wrapped it was time for Windy and Iliana to make the Burlap envelopes.

Everything was coming out just the way we had planned now.
It was very stressful and there were some challenges with this type of invitation. But in the end they came out amazing, one of a kind, and nothing like you have seen before.
