Right from the beginning we knew we wanted to make our invitations look like something people haven't seen before. The idea was simple. We wanted to screen print our invite onto canvases and envelopes made of burlap. Creative and simple right?... WRONG! Lets go back to the beginning.
The idea first came to thought during a trip to Michael's. We thought it would be a creative and simple way of doing a invite (Boy were we wrong). We asked our friend Gus if he could help us make these invites. So I made the invitation template and sent it to him. We went for a test to see if our idea would actually work. The first canvases came out amazing. We left that day happy and excited.
Couple days later we went to Blicks and saw canvases for a bit cheaper then Micheal's so we decided to go with them. The problem with these were that the canvas was a bit more textured
and they were pre-painted white and it caused the ink to not come out like the first canvases we got.

We ran into a HUGE problem and thats when the s*** hit the fan. Having only 3 hours of sleep and having hit a wall we needed another plan fast. Lucky for us, We have some amazing friends and friends with their own businesses. We took our canvases and template to my friend Manny at his shop in south pasadena called Cantu Graphics. He actually had canvas that he could print on so we did some test and it came out great. All we had to do was wrap the new canvas on the old canvas. More work for us but we had no other option.

With the new canvas printed we set up shop at our house and got to work.
With the canvases freshly wrapped it was time for Windy and Iliana to make the Burlap envelopes.

Everything was coming out just the way we had planned now.
It was very stressful and there were some challenges with this type of invitation. But in the end they came out amazing, one of a kind, and nothing like you have seen before.
